In the summer of 1972 I got a job pulling weeds and planting flowers for Glenn Cooper (Janss)...  I never left.  I started landscaping and planting perennial gardens in the summer and taking care of house plants in the winter.  With the help of my parents we built a greenhouse in the backyard and started making monthly trips to greenhouses in Salt Lake City and Boise, bringing back specimens no one had ever seen.  I set up a plant department in the old Triple S market on Main St. in Hailey and traded plants for groceries, then I decided to open a shop.  I had always been fascinated by the Renaissance painting, Botticelli's La Primavera, the Goddess of Spring.  The name and the logo seemed to fit perfectly.  We remodeled an old store front around the corner from where Shorty's Diner is today.  As they say, "The rest is history."

Through the years I've attended many floral design workshops, learning from the masters.  I've traveled to exotic flower and plant shows.  While on the island of Kauai, I had the honor of participating in making some of the winning Leis in their annual Lei Day competition, that's the true meaning of Aloha.  I have worked with some of the most prestigious interior decorators, Architectural Digest, and Hollywood celebrities.  I designed the flowers and wedding decor for the Hemingway's daughter, my husband did the photography.  We became quite the wedding duo, traveling to Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe, Southern California, Reno, and even the St. Augustine Lighthouse in Florida, flowers and photography will travel.  As my business grew, so did Sun Valley, I worked with Herbert Allen and Co. making luscious gift baskets for their annual convention, and helped with the Community Library Home Tour, the Sun Valley Symphony, and numerous non-profit fundraisers.  I decorated homes for Christmas, providing lush trees, beautiful ornaments, wreaths, garlands, poinsettias and blooming plants.

You probably are wondering how I can keep going after so many years... that's easy.  I simply love what I do, making people happy with beautiful floral arrangements.  It gives me so much in return to make someone's day or wedding dreams come true, to celebrate birthdays and a life well lived.  This business is all about emotion and expressing those through the beauty of flowers... love, happiness, sadness, joy, compassion, and of course that Life Force that gives us flowers in the Spring!

I just want to say thank you to my family for all their support, my friends for all their love, my loyal clientele, and my faithful employees for all their hard work.  The Goddess has been good to me!
